Demolition, site work and addition to a mixed-use development in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the addition of a 2,080,000-square-foot, 895-bed medical facility; for site work for a medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; and water / sewer project.

The project involves the expansion of the University of Kentucky HealthCare Chandler facility, focusing on Early Sequence Package 3.0: Fuel Tank Relocation. The scope of work includes the construction of a 2.08 million SF, 895 bed facility, accommodating additional inpatient beds and clinical support services, including adult and pediatric inpatient rooms, observation spaces, operating rooms, diagnostic and imaging services, pharmacy, retail, lab, administration, support, and meeting spaces. Specifically, the ESP-3.0 work includes adding two new fuel tanks next to the existing heating and cooling plant and installing underground piping to connect the new system to the existing one. The existing fuel tanks will remain in place and be removed under another scope package. Trade categories available for bidding in this package are General Trades and Plumbing & Mechanical. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions, and Construction Manager's Contract. ESP-3.0 BP #001.01 - General Trades ESP-3.0 BP #023.01 - Plumbing & Mechanical Architect/Engineer/Planroom/Owner Question Deadline 05/13/2026 at 3:00 PM ET All pre-bid requests for information (RFIs), or other communication must be in written format and should be submitted to: UKChandlerWTJV@walshgroup.com Bidders must submit a Notice of Intent to Bid to be granted access to the Smartbid system for downloading documents and uploading bids. Bids will be accepted from Prime Contractors only, on a lump sum basis, and must be submitted digitally as a single consolidated PDF through SmartBid, using only the official forms provided. The required documents to include are the Form of Proposal, Bid Breakdown Form by Trade Category, Bid Proposal Form Labor Rates, Subcontractor Bidder Information Form, and Labor and Billing Projections, along with bonding documentation. The final award will be made based on the lowest, responsive, and responsible bid offering the best value. All bonding, insurance, and tax costs must be included in the proposals. Substitution requests for materials and equipment need to be submitted in advance for evaluation, and no late substitutions will be entertained. Successful bidders must sign the standard subcontract agreement without modifications.
