Perform limb removal (any size) on standing trees designated and marked for limb removal by the Chief District Engineer or their representative. Limb removal must comply with Class II Pruning Standards of the National Arborist Association, Inc., making cuts just outside the branch collar and not making flush cuts along the trunk, main stem, or main branch. Remove all limbs and debris from the site and dispose of them off KYTC rights-of-way, keeping the premises free from waste material and debris at all times. At completion, remove all debris and waste material from the site and dispose of them off the rights-of-way. Vendor will be shown trees designated for limb removal prior to work. Perform necessary 'Maintain and Control Traffic' work items as outlined in the Terms and Conditions. The unit of bid for this item is per crew hour. Bidders must submit a bid for all line items for the bid to be considered responsive. Perform tree removal on trees (0-4 inches in diameter and 61 inches and above in diameter) that are designated and marked for cutting and removal by the Chief District Engineer or their representative. Cut trees to within three inches of the ground line. Remove and dispose of all trees and debris off of rights-of-way, keeping the premises free from waste and debris. Perform stump treatment as incidental, applying herbicide stump treatment within one hour upon cutting. Tree diameter is determined by the average diameter of the tree trunk two feet above the base at the ground line, measured to the nearest full inch. Trees will be measured prior to cutting and removal. The vendor will be shown the trees to be cut before work starts. Any disagreement by the contractor as to the size will be resolved with Department of Highways personnel. Perform 'Maintain and Control Traffic' as outlined in the Terms and Conditions. Bidders must submit bids for all line items for the bid to be considered responsive. Stump grinding services are required for stumps of 20 inches or less and greater than 20 inches in diameter. Grind stumps and all surrounding roots to a depth of twelve inches below ground level. Level all wood chips and disturbed soil in the place of the stump unless otherwise instructed by the Roadside Environment District Administrator. The quantities and timing of stump removal are determined and directed at the discretion of the Roadside Environment District Administrator. Bidders must submit bids for all line items.
