The work consists of construction and renovation of approximately 1,500 square feet of existing clinical space in Building 2 to prepare the site for installation and operation of new cardiac catheterization laboratory equipment, including associated control and equipment rooms. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to execute the required scope of work in full compliance with all drawings, specifications, and design narratives. Work includes selective demolition and removal of existing systems, finishes, and equipment; replacement, relocation, and modification of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and medical gas systems; relocation of electrical boom arms; upgrades to ceiling sterile air curtains; construction of built-in control room desks and casework; installation of additional wall outlets; reconfiguration of partitions, doorways, doors, frames, and hardware; and installation of new interior finishes including ceilings, flooring, wall protection, and paint. The project also includes site preparation for government-furnished catheterization lab equipment, including structural supports, utilities, shielding modifications, conduits, and required interfaces. Hazardous materials abatement, including asbestos, lead, and mold, shall be performed as identified or discovered in accordance with VA, EPA, OSHA, and applicable state and local regulations. All work will occur in an occupied and operational clinical facility and must be carefully phased to ensure uninterrupted medical services, with strict adherence to infection control risk assessment requirements, noise and vibration limits, daily coordination with VA representatives, and full testing and commissioning for VA acceptance.
