The work consists of the Arrow Highway Center Median Improvement Project for the City of Irwindale. Bids can be submitted electronically or as sealed hard copies. All bids must be submitted on forms provided, and bidders must be registered with PlanetBids. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or equivalent security for at least ten percent of the bid amount. The successful contractor must have a valid Class "A" General Engineering Contractor's State License at the time of contract award. The work must be completed within 30 working days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Contractors must comply with all applicable prevailing wage laws, labor codes, and requirements related to apprentices and non-discrimination in employment. Registration with the Department of Industrial Relations is required for the prime contractor and all subcontractors, with proof of registration included in the bid. Various insurances are required, including general liability, automobile, workers' compensation, builder's risk, and pollution liability insurance. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in the bidding process. The retention amount will remain at ten percent for the contract duration, with no reduction allowed. The contractor is responsible for defending and indemnifying the City against losses or damages arising from negligent acts or omissions.
