Site work for a water / sewer project in Natchez, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and materials for a new potable water connection in Natchez, Mississippi. All work must comply with the provided scope of work specifications. It is mandatory to review the scope of work and highly recommended to visit the facility to take field measurements and evaluations and become familiar with existing conditions. Submit your price, technical approach, and past performance with your quote. Evaluation factors are price, technical acceptability, and past performance. 26-275 The Base Bid work generally includes, but is not limited to, the following: A. Contractor will replace inground 2.5-inch valve ( Figure 1) that connects city water to current underground piping for potable water hookups. Replacement 2.5-inch valve (Figure 2) is already purchased by unit and is in inventory. Contractor will remove and replace all PVC piping after the valve. There are approximately 25 feet of below ground piping between the valve and where it reaches the surface near the wooden fence. B. Contractor will remove and replace 2.5-inch 80 Schedule PVC piping that connects 2.5-inch inground valve to potable water hookups. There are approximately 65 feet of piping from valve that comes above ground and runs across wooden railing towards the tramway ( Figure 3 ). The piping then reduces to 2.0 inch and runs underneath the tramway and down approximately 88 feet (Figure 4). Contractor will add a reducer from 2.5 inch to 2.0-inch 80 Schedule for the PVC that will run underneath the tramway. C. Contractor will have two sections of piping that tee off from the 2- inch PVC piping under the tramway and reduce to 1.5-inch 80 schedule PVC piping. The 1.5-inch Piping will come around the side of the tram and serve as access to the potable water hookup. The hookups will have a bleed valve on one side and a cut off valve on the other side with a 1.5- inch NH thread adapter to act as the potable water hook up location. The NH thread will be facing down towards the bottom of the tramway, and the bleed valve will be facing up. These hook up locations will be approximately located next to the two highest pins next to the tram, 87 feet apart. D. Contractor will need to coordinate with the city water company for shutoff and turn back on. Potable water shall not be shut off to the building longer than the workday E. Measurements and Quantities. All piping lengths and linear measurements provided in this SOW (e.g., "approximately 25 feet," "approximately 65 feet") are estimates intended for general scoping purposes only. Bidders are solely responsible for conducting their own measurements, verifying routing, and assessing all site conditions during the scheduled site visit. The Government will not be liable for, nor entertain requests for equitable adjustment regarding, discrepancies between the estimated lengths in this SOW and the actual material quantities required to successfully execute the work. F. Excavation, Backfill , and Surface Restoration . The contractor shall be responsible for all trenching and excavation required to replace the belowground piping. Upon successful completion and hydrostatic testing of the newly installed line, the contractor must: o Backfill the excavated trench using suitable material. . Compact the soil adequately to prevent future ground settling. Restore the surface area to match the surrounding pre-construction grade and condition ( e.g., replacing sod , gravel, or topsoil as applicable). G. This summary is not all inclusive and delineates only that work items deemed as major to the contract. Ancillary work items necessary to attain the completed project shall be included in the contract as inherent to the work.
