The Board of Education, Independent School District #186 of Pequot Lakes, MN is seeking proposals for general contractor oversight for the construction of a house by the ISD #186 construction trades class for the 2026-2027 school year. The work covers the period from September 8, 2026, through May 27, 2027. The house will be constructed according to plans approved by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, Building Code Representative. Construction is expected to commence on or around September 2025 with completion by the end of May 2027. All construction materials are the responsibility of the contractor. The district constructs the house for educational purposes and reserves the right to perform all work required for its curriculum. The contractor must deposit a non-refundable cashier’s check to cover district overhead, not less than $5,500. The district will be responsible for heating, debris removal, and required inspections, with the contractor reimbursing the district for these costs. The schedule for the Construction Trades class is early afternoon to the end of the school day, and the contractor should not be present on site during class time unless requested. The contractor must provide floor plans to the district by September 8, 2026. After certification and completion, the house must be removed from district property at the contractor’s expense no later than August 1, 2027. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and interested parties must submit proposals as specified.
