The current San Angelo Coliseum was built in 1959 and has been maxed out by the current rodeo format. The Renovation of the San Angelo Coliseum will expand the main facility to include 3,000 additional grandstand seats, new skybox and club level (2,150 additional seats), ADA improvements, restroom expansion, food service areas, ticketing and public spaces, as well as exterior improvements to the existing building. The newly renovated Coliseum will be the focal point of highly visible and prominent location. The renovated facility is programmed to provide expanded entertainment options and venue capacity exceeding 10,000. The improved facilities will grow the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, already one of the largest livestock shows in the nation and the rodeo that consistently ranks in the top 2 in total entries. The rodeo association also hosts a variety of events year-round in the coliseum. The improvements will help to continue to generate large economic impacts to the San Angelo area.
