Renovation of a recreation facility in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.

The City of Grande Prairie (the “City”) requires the services of a General Contractor for the supply, installation and commissioning of a structural climbing wall system, including foundations, structural supports, safety systems, and impact attenuating flooring located at Keyera Place located at 9401 Park Road. Work shall be done in accordance with the drawings and specifications outlined in Attachment, which has been prepared by Akron Engineering. The work details include, but not limited to: Consists mainly of Structural, Climbing Wall, and Safety System Work, including foundations, steel framing, climbing panels, anchor systems, and impact attenuating flooring. Complete work in compliance with the National Building Code – Alberta Edition 2023, National Energy Code for Buildings 2020, applicable CSA standards, Canadian Electrical Code 2024 (for any required electrical work), and other applicable codes, acts, legislation, and industry safety standards. Contractor shall perform the work in accordance with all Notes, Specifications, and Drawings provided in Attachment 1. Keep project deliverables, construction schedule, and installation records up to date for review at site meetings. All shop drawings, product data are to be reviewed and approved by the project’s Consultant. Supervise and coordinate for all subcontractors and trades involved in the project. Contractor to arrange for all required inspections and testing, including concrete testing, welding inspection, anchor testing, and impact attenuation certification. Contractor shall ensure safe construction methods, including temporary works, shoring, and demolition where required, and shall assume full responsibility for site safety. Provide record drawings, material certifications, testing reports, and compliance documentation upon Substantial Performance. One digital and one hard copy of As-Built drawings shall be submitted. Supply and install a fully operational climbing wall facility, including all hardware, climbing holds, ropes, auto belay units, and mats, and ensure compliance with EN 12572 and ASTM F1292 safety standards. Perform final construction review with the Consultant at the conclusion of the project warranty period.
