Site work and paving for a road / highway in Steinbach, Manitoba. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Section 1: Loewen Blvd. from Hirschfeld Rd. to Kokomo Rd. (4885m): Excavate the intersection area (37E and Loewen Blvd.), as shown in Figure 1 (12m x 30m x 0.45m). Install geotextile, place and compact 300mm C-Base, then 150mm A-Base. Shape and compact existing gravel to maintain a 3% crown throughout. Complete asphalt radius tie-in at Kokomo Rd. and prepare shoulders to a 0.6m width for finished asphalt tie-in. Supply, place, and compact 450 tonnes of A Base for approach tie-ins to existing municipal roads and driveways. Contractor is responsible for utility locates, removal of waste, traffic control, and signage. Perform four asphalt compaction tests. Section 2: Loewen Blvd. from Kokomo Rd. to Hazelwood Lane (710m): Shape and compact the existing gravel to maintain a 3% crown. Prepare shoulders to 0.6m width for asphalt tie-in. Supply, place, and compact 80 tonnes of A Base for approach tie-ins to municipal roads and driveways. Contractor is responsible for utility locates, waste removal, traffic control, and signage. Perform two asphalt compaction tests. Additional information is available in the bid package.
