The proposed work includes the installation of a brick paver path and associated areas as follows: Approximate path length: 150 linear feet from existing pavement to gazebo step Path width: 6 feet Additional areas: o Accessible spectator area: approximately 20 feet by 6 feet o Fishing platform access: approximately 15 feet by 6 feet All dimensions are approximate and provided for reference only. Contractors are responsible for verifying all field measurements prior to submission of a quotation. 2. Materials and Design: Anticipated paver products include (or approved equal): Town Hall by Unilock Holland Stone by Belgard Pennwine by General Shale 4" x 8" Brick by Tremron The final pattern will be selected by the Town in consultation with the Contractor. For quotation purposes, contractors should assume standard installation patterns such as: Herringbone Running Bond Basketweave Pinwheel Contractor Responsibilities: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work, including but not limited to: Meet with Town representatives to finalize paver selection and pattern Review site conditions and establish final grade elevations Ensure final elevation: o Matches existing asphalt o Provides a maximum 7-inch step at the gazebo / fishing platform (or maintains a maximum deviation of 3/8 inch from the existing step height) as per Building Code. Install a 1-inch layer of coarse concrete sand (ASTM C-33) over the prepared base Screed and level sand to achieve uniform elevation Maintain a minimum slope of 1.5% for proper drainage Install pavers in the selected pattern Perform all necessary cutting and fitting at edges and transitions Install rigid edge restraints secured with 10-inch steel spikes Install polymeric joint sand, compact pavers, and refill joints as required Apply surface sealant Restore adjacent disturbed areas to finish grade (topsoil provided by Town; placement by Contractor) Transition from paver path to existing gazebo concrete step to be accomplished by installation of a minimum of two 7' wide by +/-6" tall steps which shall conform to NYS Building Code requirements. Q/A:- All questions about the meaning or intent of this RFQ shall be submitted to the Town in writing via email to purchasing@townofcolonie.gov. To be given consideration, such email(s) must be received at least five business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Quotes.
