The project consists of implementing designed improvements and recommended maintenance items for the Spruce and Elmore Mountain Fire Towers in accordance with the typical plans and specifications. The contractor must determine if the work can be executed directly from the plans or if modifications are necessary. Necessary improvements and required maintenance are listed in the Vermont State Lands Fire Tower Structural Assessment Report. Typical designs for additional safety elements are described in the State Lands Fire Tower Upgrades – Conformed Drawings 2026-03-23. Material quantity estimates are provided in SL_FireTowers_Quantities.pdf for each site. Site access information is detailed in the Fire Tower Improvement Project Access Plans. Helicopter transport details are provided in the Elmore and Spruce Helicopter Material/Equipment Transport Plan. Bidders are required to attend a pre-bid meeting at the project site. Any questions or requests for clarification must be submitted in writing by the specified deadline. All bids must be submitted electronically in accordance with the submission requirements via email, referencing the Project Title in the subject line. Documents concerning the project are available from Blueprints Etc. All notifications, releases, and addendums will be posted online. There is a non-refundable fee for each set of documents purchased.
