The successful contractor shall furnish all labour, equipment, materials, traffic control, and disposal required to complete the following for each manhole: a. Mobilization and Traffic Control Mobilize crews and equipment to MRN corridors. Implement traffic control in accordance with MMCD standards, MOTI traffic control guidelines, and WorkSafeBC regulations. Phase work to minimize disruption on high-volume MRN roadways. b. Site Preparation and Asphalt Removal Perform a radial saw-cut around each manhole. Remove and dispose of asphalt to expose the existing frame and chimney structure. c. Manhole Frame and Cover Rehabilitation Remove existing manhole frame and cover. Remove existing concrete rings. Install new rings and adjustable riser section Reset, adjust, or replace frame and cover as required to achieve final road grade. City to provide frame and cover if replacement required. Ensure cover is flush, level, and secure with no rocking or vertical deflection. d. Concrete Collar Installation Prepare and compact sub-base as necessary. Place reinforced high early strength (minimum 32 MPa) concrete collar to fill the circular cut area. Finish collar flush with surrounding pavement, ensuring smooth transition and proper drainage. Cure in accordance with specifications before reopening to traffic. e. Final Inspection and Site Restoration Remove debris and construction materials. Ensure traffic markings and surrounding surfaces are restored to City standards. Submit each rehabilitated location for City inspection and approval. 3. Schedule Work is to be completed within the time specified. Contractor shall propose a phasing and sequencing plan for MRN corridors to coordinate with traffic volumes, paving programs, and City operations. Production rates shall ensure completion of approximately 50–150 manholes within the approved contract window. 4. Quality Assurance All work must meet City of Maple Ridge Engineering Standards, MMCD specifications, and applicable CSA standards. The City reserves the right to inspect at any stage and direct corrective actions as required.
