The work consists of milling and paving along Westchester Avenue between Fourth Street and First Street and milling and paving Fourth Street between Westchester Avenue and Tate Avenue. Other related work shall include the replacement of curbs in various locations of the Village of Buchanan, adjusting and repairing drainage structures and sanitary manhole structures, adjusting utility frames and covers to grade, as well as preparing, restoring, and cleaning the project area all in accordance with the plans and specifications and as directed by the Engineer. Coordination with the Village's Highway Department is required and expected throughout the duration of the project. Bids shall be made on the Proposal Forms furnished with the Specifications and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond acceptable to the Village, a certified cashier's check, drawn on a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the Bid. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Buchanan, New York, and are to be held by the Village as a guarantee for the proper execution and delivery of the Contract and bonds to secure the faithful performance thereof. In default of such execution and delivery of Contract and Bonds, the amount of the deposit represented by the check shall be forfeited to and retained by the Village of Buchanan as liquidated damages. Bid Proposals shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder, addressed to the Village of Buchanan, 236 Tate Avenue, Buchanan, New York 10511 and endorsed Village of Buchanan Roadway Improvement Project 2026, Buchanan, New York. The Village of Buchanan reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any informality in any Bid, and to award the Contract to other than the lowest Bidder if deemed in the best interest of the Village to do so.
