The Town of Morinville invites qualified contractors to submit bids for roadway improvements along East Boundary Road, the shared boundary roadway between the Town of Morinville and Sturgeon County. The project limits extend from the 96 Avenue intersection (south limit) to Highway 642 (north limit). The Work generally includes upgrading the existing rural gravel roadway cross section, currently consisting of shallow roadside ditches, to a hybrid urban/rural cross section featuring curb and gutter on the west side of the roadway and ditching on the east side. The project also includes raising the roadway elevation to accommodate storm infrastructure improvements and enhance existing surface drainage conveyance to its intended outlet. Also included in this tender is the Highway 642 Crosswalk Work, identified as a PROVISIONAL item. This portion of the Work, outlined in Schedule F of the Schedule of Quantities, may be adjusted depending on whether tender pricing aligns with the Town's approved project budget. Generally, the work includes, but is not limited to the following: Site preparation and management, including pedestrian, vehicular traffic control measures and delineation of work zones, and maintaining access for residents along East Boundary Road. Saw cutting, removal, and disposal of existing hard surfacing materials. Removal and disposal of existing soft surfacing materials. Import of suitable clay material (PROVISIONAL), fine grading, and preparation of subgrade, including cement stabilization. Replacement and construction off concrete works, including curb and gutter, separate walk, curb ramps, and swale. Construction of road and shared use path structures, including geo-grid, geo-fabric, gravel base course, and asphalt pavement. Milling and overlaying of asphalt at existing roadway tie in locations. Supply and installation of catch basins and storm pipes (incl. outfall and riprap). Adjustment of manholes, catch basins, and valves to match surface elevations. Realignment of ditch, including grading and re-shaping to improve drainage. Painting of pavement markings. Placement of topsoil and seed/sod over disturbed areas. Highway 642 - Crosswalk (PROVISIONAL), including RRFBs and minor roadwork. Coordination of work with shallow utility companies and others (GFL, residents, Town, etc.), and performing work within the parameters of the approved Pembina Pipelines (Town-obtained). crossing agreement.
