The intent of this project is to deflect flow from the outside bend towards the center of the channel, thereby reducing the erosive scour along approximately 500-feet of highly eroding riverbank while enhancing in-stream habitat. Three rock bendway weirs are specified as the primary flow manipulation devices. These three weirs have a length of bank disturbance of 150 linear feet and area of disturbance of 0.08 acres. The weirs are angled 45 from the bank facing upstream. The work consists of stabilizing approximately 500 linear feet of Rum Riverbank utilizing bendway weirs. Major quantities include: clearing 0.32 acre, common excavation 416 cubic yards, haul and dispose of excess material 328 cubic yards, geotextile fabric type 7 457 square yards, random riprap class IV - igneous crushed angular (granite) 480 tons, flotation silt curtain; type moving water 600 linear feet, common topsoil borrow 49 cubic yards, rolled erosion prevention category 45 444 square yards, live stakes 350 each, together with site restoration, erosion controls, seeding, and other related appurtenances. Bidders shall only use the specified access route for equipment and vehicles. ACD reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract to the best interest of ACD.
