Site work and paving for a road / highway in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Now accepting bids for gravel and for double chip-sealing of approximately 1.05 mile of Log Cabin Road, northbound from its intersection with Horseshoe Lake Road. The project is funded by the Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP). No work may begin until after the project's State Municipal Agreement (SMA) is issued. No Town equipment nor staff may be used on this project. Scope of Work: GRAVEL: Supply, haul, place, and do initial grade plus compaction of approximately 1,800 yards of gravel (meeting state specs). Travel width is 22 feet, plus two-foot shoulders. DOUBLE CHIP-SEAL: Double chip-seal over gravel the 22-foot travel width, including final grade before sealing. Double chip-seal to consist of hot oil with 3/8" river rock chips followed by hot oil with 3/8" granite chips. Instructions to Bidders: Bids will be accepted up until 7:00 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, and will be opened for consideration and award that evening at the monthly Town Board Meeting held at Rusk Town Hall. A drop-box is available at Town Hall. If mailing your bid, mark envelope "Road Work Bid" and address to Town of Rusk Clerk, P.O. Box 61, Chetek, WI 54728. A certificate of insurance, customary signage, flagging, etc. are required.
