The scope of work includes minor interior repairs to PH1393 and major repairs to the surrounding site conditions. This scope encompasses demolishing the solid rocket booster (SRB) washdown system both inside and outside the facility, replacing the electrical system, correcting draining deficiencies and addressing accessibility and egress requirements to support Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) operations. Originally designed as an SRB washdown facility, it was never used for that mission and has not undergone a major renovation since its construction in 1984. The SRB washdown system, which is not used by EXWC, includes piping, pumps, equipment, in-floor drainage trenches, and a turntable. This equipment reduces EXWC's functionality within the building. The existing building consists of five bays - A Bay, B Bay, C Bay, D Bay, E Bay and F Bay - and is surrounded by site parking and exterior laydown areas used for equipment storage and maintenance, all supporting the programs operating at the facility. The site work repairs include the removal of an underground industrial wastewater treatment tank and related above-ground equipment, the removal of railroad tracks, the replacement of outdoor electrical equipment in the electrical yard, and site pavement repairs. These pavement repairs will maximize the yard's utilization for storage and circulation while also addressing exterior drainage issues in front of the roll-up doors.
