Site work for a road / highway in Richmond, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
This project is partially funded through external grants. A portion of the Work must be completed prior to December 31, 2026. To fulfill this requirement, the contractor is to ensure that $3,400,000 of the total Work be completed on or before this date. The City is proposing to engage a Contractor to provide construction services to construct approximately 1000 linear meters of multi-use path and related roadwork improvements on the south side of Steveston Highway from Shell Road to Steveston Interchange. The Work scope is as follows: .1 Provide traffic control including flagger personnel, signage, two changeable message sign (CMS) boards, and other equipment during construction and coordination with the City traffic department as per the City requirements and Specifications. .2 Exercise best management practices for environmental protection, including erosion and sediment control and necessary equipment and installations as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .3 Removal and disposal of existing asphalt, curbs, catchbasins, sidewalks, driveways, topsoil, vegetation, landscaping, and other unwanted items underground and on the ground as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .4 Supply and installation of granular material as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .5 Supply and installation of geotextile if it is determined to be required by the owner’s Geotechnical engineer. .6 Supply and installation of electrical lighting and traffic signals as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .7 Adjusting / relocating existing electrical as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .8 Vegetated surface restoration including supply and installation of imported topsoil and hydraulic seeding as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .9 Construction of new curb and gutter, roadworks, drainage, sidewalks, MUP, and driveways as per Contract Drawings and Specifications. .10 Coordination with third party utility owners, including but not limited to, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, TELUS, Shaw, Canadian National Railway, etc. prior to construction and/or excavation to confirm potential utility conflicts or impacts with the Work, as required. .11 Notifying private property owner(s) of construction impacts including access, work scheduling and traffic, as per Contract.
