Milan Area Schools seeks proposals from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of damaged or weathered concrete pedestrian walkways/sidewalks at Milan High School. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all required permits, removing and disposing of existing concrete, furnishing and installing new concrete according to specified dimensions and standards, preparing and compacting the subgrade, re-establishing grades and drainage patterns, saw-cutting existing concrete, and restoring all disturbed areas to their original condition. Work must meet specified technical requirements, including a 4,000 PSI concrete mix, minimum 4-inch slab thickness, specified reinforcement, ADA compliance, surface finish, curing compound application, and joint requirements. Safe, ADA-compliant pedestrian detours must be maintained, and work must be coordinated around school hours and events, with noise and dust control measures in place. Bidders must provide unit pricing per square foot for removal and replacement, as well as pricing for mobilization and any additional costs. Submission requirements include proof of experience and licensing, insurance, references, a project schedule and approach, and a completed familial relationships statement. Proposals will be evaluated primarily on cost, relevant experience, project approach, and overall completeness and responsiveness. Subgrade preparation and compaction. Re-establishment of grades and drainage patterns. Saw-cutting of existing concrete at defined limits. Restoration of adjacent disturbed areas (landscaping, yards, curb/gutter, and asphalted areas, etc., should be restored to original condition.)
