Charlotte County entered into an interlocal agreement with the City of North Port to look into options to improve the Hillsborough/Cranberry intersection. The consultant will come up with different alternatives to correct the congestion. The County and City will agree on one of the options and construct the improvements with the County and the City each paying 50% of design and construction. Approval of the interlocal requires 1/2 of $142,393.04 for an engineering study, and 1/2 of the actual cost for the design and permitting of the selected geometric reconfiguration which shall not exceed $300.000 Future funding of ROW and construction will be needed The project is included in the County 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
