Design-build services for upgrades and preventive maintenance of ten BQE (I-278) bridges in Queens and Kings Counties, NYC. The work includes design, fabrication, and installation of two inspection and maintenance travelers on the Kosciuszko Bridges; repairs, modification, and/or realignment of the existing traveler rails to facilitate the proper functioning of the new travelers; and preventive/corrective maintenance repairs on the Kosciuszko Bridge approach spans and eight other bridges in the vicinity. Work items for the various bridges include deck sealing, concrete deck crack sealing, joint resealing, reset bearings at isolated locations, partial depth deck repairs, traveler installation, and rail realignment or repairs as needed. A Best Value selection process will be used, involving a two-step process: Request for Qualifications (RFQ) followed by a Final Request for Proposals (RFP) to shortlisted firms. The RFQ will establish the pre-qualification process and detail the Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required from interested firms. All bid documents and amendments related to this procurement will be posted on the specified project website.
