The work to be performed includes: • Installation of approximately 60 linear feet of 4-inch waterline, 650 linear feet of 6-inch waterline, and 5,640 linear feet of 8-inch waterline in residential neighborhoods and downtown corridors, including two segments installed by bore and jack methods. • Installation of approximately 3,530 linear feet of 12-inch waterline along a rural highway, including one segment installed by bore and jack methods. • Installation of 13 owner-provided Sampling Stations and 6 owner-provided Automatic Flushing Devices. • Removal of a valve vault and reconfiguration of waterline piping. • Traffic control, site restoration, and related work. Contractors must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes at the time of bid opening to perform the work as the general contractor and must have the proper licensing governing their respective trades. Compliance with the City/County Utility Commission's Minority and Women Business Enterprise program is required. The M/WBE subcontracting goals for this project are 6% MBE and 4% WBE, which must be met separately.
