The critical purpose of the proposed Project is to construct approximately nine (9) miles of pressurized fused HDPE pipe, with pipe sizes ranging from 54-inches at the pump station down to 14-inches at the end. Work shall include installation of required fittings, valves, combination vacuum-air relief valves, pressure relief valves, drainage sumps, and all other appurtenances associated with the pressurized pipeline. There are up to sixteen separate turnouts along the pressurized pipeline that will connect to existing pressurized irrigation systems, ponds or injection wells. The ponds and injection wells are not part of this project. Construction of the pipeline will be along existing public roads, private roads, private property, and a conservation easement. The pipeline does not pass through any of the local cities. Connection to the pump station (constructed by others) will require connection to a 54-inch HDPE pipe installed as part of the pump station. The work includes soil excavation, rock excavation, and removal for pipeline construction; installation of fused HDPE pipe of various sizes ranging from 54-inches to 14-inches; installation of fused HDPE fittings, appurtenant valves, meters, combination air vacuum valves, pressure relief valves, and drainage sumps outlets; site restoration along pipeline; installation of turnout facilities; site improvements and grading for access and ongoing maintenance; and coordination with SCADA subcontractor associated with the pump station for SCADA required at each turnout. The estimated cost of construction is between $18-21 million dollars. The proposed period for bidding, awarding, and construction of the project is June 2026 through June 2027. A key milestone for the project is that the system must be able to deliver water by mid-May 2027.
