Renovation of an educational facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project site is located between Carling Avenue and Highway 417, East of Greenbank Road, in the neighborhood of Whitehaven-Queensway Terrace North. The property at 2553 Severn Avenue houses Severn Avenue Public School together with associated parking and sportsfields. The 2-storey school building was constructed in 1959, with a small storeroom added off the gymnasium in 1988. The original building is steel construction with terracotta block partitions. The ground floor is 5" reinforced concrete slab on grade and the second floor and roof are constructed of 3" reinforced concrete. The work of this project will be completed over two phases to accommodate scheduling and furniture storage. Phase II of the project will include all work within the second-floor rooms located on the East side of the corridor and abatement of hazardous materials and new fire-rated lay-in tile ceilings in the second-floor corridor. The fire alarm panel will also be replaced in this phase. Phase III will include the replacement of existing main ductwork and branch ducts above the second-floor corridor ceiling with new insulated ductwork. All work within the second-floor rooms located on the West side of the corridor as well as on the ground floor in Kindergarten 121 will be completed in Phase III. New rooftop units will be installed and connected to the updated mechanical ducts on the ground and second floor. All work must be completed over four (4) phases occurring July/August 2026 (Phase 2A), September-December 2026 (Phase 2B), January-June 2027 (Phase 2C) and July/August 2027 (Phase 3). Phase 1 has previously been completed under separate contract.
