Site work for a transportation facility in Kenansville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a runway / taxiway.
The work includes clearing, grubbing, and grading of approximately four acres of forested land for the development of a future access road. Each bidder must be properly licensed for all aspects of the work under Chapter 87, General Statutes of North Carolina. Prior to submitting a bid, each bidder must be properly pre-qualified as a prime or POC bidder through the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the work intended. Bidders must list all work to be performed by subcontractors not prequalified to perform such work, and these subcontractors must themselves be prequalified. No changes to any such subcontractors will be permitted after the bid is submitted unless approved by the Owner. Bid security equal to 5% of the total of the Base Bid and any Bid Additives is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will also be required. Certain mandatory state and federal requirements apply to this solicitation. Bidders must certify they are not debarred or ineligible for participation by any Federal department or agency or the State of North Carolina. Disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, or national origin. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities, reject any or all bids or subcontractors, and to award or refrain from awarding the contract as deemed in its best interest.
