The contract requires the construction of 1.390 km of forest service road and the installation of a 42.6 m steel girder bridge with concrete panels, starting at the end of the Copper River Forest Service Road (60.7 km). The road section from 60.7 to 61.4 km consists of an existing road (722 m) that has been brushed out and will require reconstruction including ditching, road surface re-establishment, and pullout construction according to the designs provided. New construction begins at 61.4 km, with the first 240 m through regenerated timber and the next 474 m through mature timber. The Ministry will provide the bridge, concrete panels, ballast walls, pads, piles, and culverts, which the contractor must transport from the Ministry of Forest Yard in Terrace, B.C. The Ministry will also provide a professional engineer for inspection, supervision, and sign-off on the bridge installation. A crane will be available at the Ministry Yard to load bridge components. Bidders should include a line item for generating and hauling rip rap from an established pit at 57.2 km, although it is anticipated rip rap may be sourced from road construction or adjacent locations.
