Sealed bids will be received for furnishing all labor and materials, and performing all work required by Mobile County for the City of Semmes Resurfacing, Project No. MCR-2024-202. Twenty working days are allowed for construction. Bids must be on blank forms provided in the specifications and submitted in their entirety. A cashier's check or bidder's bond for at least five percent of the bid amount, not to exceed $10,000, must accompany each bid as a guaranty. The project is bid excluding taxes and requires compliance with relevant Alabama Code provisions. A performance bond and a labor and materials bond, each not less than the contract price, as well as a certificate of insurance, are required at signing. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Liquidated damages for late completion will be assessed according to contract terms. Only bidders properly licensed in Alabama, including holding an appropriate major classification of license, will be considered. Out-of-state corporations must provide a certificate of authority, and limited liability companies must show registration to transact business in Alabama. Proof of enrollment in E-Verify is required for contractors with employees in Alabama. All bids must comply with the Mobile County Contractor Felony Investigation Policy if applicable. Bids may not be withdrawn for 30 days without County consent.
