The Region of Waterloo (Region) is completing reconstruction of Maple Grove Road between Hespeler Road and Vondrau Drive delivered through multiple contracts over several years. As part of reconstruction scope, multi-use trail (MUT) facilities on both sides of the roadway are being constructed to connect to existing facilities. Contract 1, which reconstructed Maple Grove Road between Hespeler Road and Ellis Creek is anticipated to be completed by August 2026. At Ellis Creek, the MUT facilities have been designed to cross independently of the existing road structure and as part of Contract 1, substructures to support the MUT crossing were constructed. Contract 2, for which this prequalification is being issued includes the construction of prefabricated steel superstructures (2 total) to be delivered and installed on the previously constructed substructure elements including all connections to the MUT facilities on both sides. General Contractors are invited to submit prequalification information for the MUT superstructures at Ellis Creek. Tenders will only be accepted by prequalified General Contractors.
