Bow Operations covers a large area from Calgary east to Brooks and Hanna and south to Vulcan, with several vertical turbine pumps, compressors, and valves that require routine maintenance and occasional emergency repairs to ensure proper and reliable operation. This infrastructure is vital for supplying irrigation and domestic water to many users and must be kept reliable with prompt repairs as needed. The requirements are for an experienced company to provide regular inspections, service, and diagnostic abilities to ensure efficient operation of motors, pumps, and compressor components, as well as valve servicing and component replacement. The service provider is responsible for all needed health and safety equipment, including personal protective equipment, harnesses, hoists, and air quality monitors. Use of the overhead crane in the Deadfish Pumphouse is permitted in cooperation with the operator. Since the scope of repairs and parts replacement will only be determined after detailed inspection, bidders are required to provide labor and parts mark-up rates with their quotation. If additional parts require replacement or repair during servicing, the service provider must notify AGI and obtain written approval before proceeding, and any such work must be charged according to the quoted rates. The contract is administered by Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation, Water Infrastructure Operations Branch, based in Calgary, with the site contact in Vulcan.
