East Millstone Water Main Installation Amwell Rd from Wortman St to Mettlers Rd Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000, payable unconditionally to Franklin Township, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract. For the Lump Sum and Unit Prices bid under the various Contract items, the Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and labor required to perform work to remove and install 16" DIP Class 52 water main as well as removal and installation of 8" DIP Class 52 water mains. The work will also include the removal of a 20" RCP Water main section. All work for this project will be completed overnight from 9pm to 6am. The roadway must be open at 6am. The contractor shall adhere to all Somerset County Street Opening Permit requirements. This will be by tapping the ac main with a stainless steel full tapping band. All work will be on Amwell Road. Replacement work also includes replacing tees, removing and replacing gate valves, replacing hydrants and valves, replacing curb boxes and curb shutoffs and installing TOWNSHIP SUPPLIED 1" meter pit and yoke for a residential home for backfilling of trenches as described in the Specifications, and as directed by the Public Works Manager and the Somerset County Director of Public Works.
