The project will consist of the demolition of existing gymnasium flooring and associated substrates, and the installation of new gymnasium flooring for the community college building. Door thresholds, bleachers, and other equipment will need to be uninstalled and stored on-site for reinstallation by the contractor. The estimated square footage is 10,000 SF. Pre-qualification requirements: ONLY CONTRACTORS WHO HAVE BEEN PRE-QUALIFIED and have a representative present at a mandatory pre-bid conference will be eligible to bid. Only general contractors who have completed the pre-qualification process and are certified as qualified will be eligible. Qualification and approval criteria may be obtained from the Architect upon letterhead request. Completed applications for pre-qualification must be received by the Architect by the stated deadline. All bidders must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display their current license number on the outside of the sealed bid envelope. A cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance will be required at contract signing. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in pre-qualification applications or abandon the pre-qualification process in whole or in part, should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted..
