Work to be performed under this contract will consist of hydraulic excavation of water main services at the corporate stop at various locations within the Village of Posen. Once the services have been excavated, the material of the service pipe for both public and private side of the corporate stop will be identified and logged, and then the site hole will be restored to its existing condition. (kyle.braghini@hrgreen.com) with HR Green Engineering. 1) All work shall follow IDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted 1/1/22, unless modified below. 2) Material Specifications a) The Village of Posen would like to locate and identify the material composition of water main services for the purpose of determining if they need to be replaced under another contract. b) The project limits will be provided upon award of this project but consist of at most 474 properties within the Village of Posen where the material of water service connections has not been able to be ascertained by other means. c) The scope of work shall consist of the location of the municipal corporate stop (Buffalo Box/B-Box or meter box), performing a hydraulic excavation (hydrojetting) to sufficient width and depth to expose the connection from the municipal water main to the corporate stop, and from the corporate stop to the house. For the purposes of payment, the hydraulic excavation and location of the public side, and the hydraulic excavation and location of the private side will each be considered a locate. d) A representative from Village of Posen Public Works will be present during excavation activities and will verify, along with the contractor, material type of the service pipe. e) Once the material has been verified by Public Works and the contractor, the hole shall be backfilled with topsoil to the previous grade, seeded with IDOT Mix Class 1B grass seed, fertilizer, and covered with mulch. f) Please note that due to limitations on grant funding, there is only $40,000 available. On the bid form, please ensure that the total sum does not exceed this amount. Please provide a unit price and anticipated number of locates that may be provided within the scope of your proposal. Note that for the purposes of the bid, one locate is considered for the Villages side of the corporate stop, and one locate for the property owners. The Village will provide the selected contractor with a list of addresses whose water service still needs to be identified. As a whole, the selected contractor will work from east to west, and north to south within the Village limits. g) The contractor will not be expected to excavate through concrete, stone, or asphalt if the corporate stop is located in it only in the grass parkways.
