Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The scope of work consists of two parts: Part 1 – Public Works Funded Work and Part 2 – Water and Waste Funded Work. Part 1 includes concrete reconstruction of Sargent Avenue from Balmoral Street to Edmonton Street, pavement rehabilitation of Edmonton Street from Ellice Avenue to Cumberland Avenue, street lighting installation and associated works on Sargent Avenue from Balmoral Street to Edmonton Street, and traffic signal conduit and base installation and associated works on Sargent Avenue from Balmoral Street to Edmonton Street. Part 2 includes manhole repairs and water service installation on Sargent Avenue and Edmonton Street. The major components of the work include installation of catch pits, drainage connection pipe, catch basins with subdrains and sewer service pipe, removal of existing trees, planter boxes, asphalt pavement, and paving stones, excavation and subgrade preparation, insulation of water services, placement of separation filtration geotextile fabric and geogrid, placement of Granular A limestone sub-base and base course granular layers, construction of concrete pavement and approaches, construction of barrier and modified barrier curbs, curb ramps, structural soil cells, monolithic curbs, sidewalks with block outs, paving bands, asphalt tie-ins, adjustment of manholes, and restoration of boulevards. For pavement rehabilitation on Edmonton Street, work includes planing existing asphalt, abandoning and installing catch pits and basins, renewing pavement slabs, curbs, ramps, sidewalks with warning tiles, adjusting basins and manholes, installing pavement repair fabric, constructing new asphalt overlay, and boulevard restoration.
