Containment, demolition, and disposal of an abandoned air handler system in Building 60D that has been tested and confirmed to contain asbestos. The work includes preparation and submission of an asbestos abatement plan; mobilization of all required equipment, tools, safety gear, and ventilation systems; establishment of containment and negative air pressure to prevent fiber release; and isolation of the work area to ensure no debris leaves the designated containment zone. The contractor shall mechanically remove all asbestos-containing materials, provide and enforce the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for all personnel, and properly collect, manifest, transport, and dispose of asbestos-containing waste at an approved off-site facility in accordance with EPA and regulatory requirements. Following removal, the area previously housing the air handler shall be sealed to match surrounding conditions and prevent future access. Demobilization includes third-party clearance testing to confirm decontamination, disposal of contaminated consumables such as tarps, filters, and non-reusable PPE, and submission of all post-abatement testing results and documentation to the Government. All work shall be completed within 90 days of Notice to Proceed and in accordance with the Statement of Work and applicable wage determinations.
