Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Clanton, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
Sealed proposals will be received for the Thorsby High School Gymnasium at the Chilton County Board of Education. General Contractors and select subcontractor trades are required to prequalify prior to requesting Bid Documents. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Chilton County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the office of the Architect, Ward Scott Morris Architecture, Inc., and TuscaBlue. Bid documents may be obtained from TuscaBlue upon deposit of $200.00 per set, refundable upon return of documents in good condition within ten days of bid date. Electronic PDF copies of bid documents may be procured free of charge. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect. All bidders exceeding the amount established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Alabama law and display their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgment, the best interests of the Owner will be promoted. All bidders are invited to attend a non-mandatory pre-bid conference at the Chilton County Board of Education. The bidder’s company employee attending the pre-bid conference shall have qualifications and experience with the construction to be performed within this project. Nonresident bidders must accompany bids with a written opinion of an attorney at law licensed in their state of domicile regarding preferences granted by the law of that state to its own business entities in public contracts. Pre-qualification requirements: General Contractors and select subcontractor trades are required to prequalify prior to requesting Bid Documents. Emphasis will be placed on the firm’s experience with projects similar in size and type. Prequalification proposal requirements may be obtained from the Architect by request. Return one electronic copy of the completed packet before the specified deadline for consideration.
