The city of Punta Gorda is accepting proposals from experienced and competent contractor(s) to design, furnish and install a security fence and access gates at the Public Safety Building located in Punta Gorda, Florida. Question Deadline 06/15/2026 at 3:00 PM ETBidders shall address all questions and request clarification for a Solicitation Package to the Purchasing Agent. Questions shall be submitted via email, fax or hard copy and shall be received by the question and clarification deadline stated above and on page 1 in the Solicitation Document (or as may be amended by Addenda). All answers to questions submitted will be published and answered in a manner that all bidder will be able to view. ** Pre bid info : Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the scheduled Pre-Submittal meeting specified. Bidders may either attend in person or participate via Internet Webinar. Bidder's wishing to attend via Internet Webinar shall follow the Webinar Event Instructions included in the Solicitation Document. This information meeting presents an opportunity for the Bidder to clarify any concerns regarding solicitation requirements. The Bidder is cautioned that, although the pre-submittal meeting is optional, no modification or any changes will be allowed in the Bidders pricing because of the failure of the Bidder to have attended the conference or visited the site. Submission of a bid will be construed that the Bidder is acquainted sufficiently with the work to be performed. The Bidder shall make a careful examination of the project site, shall familiarize themselves with existing conditions, and shall satisfy themselves as to the quantity and quality of materials and workmanship required for the work. The Bidder shall carefully and thoroughly examine the Solicitation Package, inclusive of the Agreement, terms and conditions before submitting a bid. A site visit will be conducted at the conclusion of this meeting. The City will NOT conduct site visits outside of the schedule stated in the solicitation. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1. A rough sketch is provided below but all measurements must be field verified. The responsibility falls solely on the contractor to verify all measurements. i) Fence Type: a) Aluminum Fence Manufacture: Maverick Ultra II Model/Design: Aberdeen or approved equal. b) Chain-link fence: Commercial Grade, Schedule 40, Black Coated Galvanized Steel.The City of Punta Gorda is seeking a contractor to provide al labor, equipment, materials and all appurtenances for design, supply, and installation of approximately 763 linear feet (LF) of security fence (500 LF of black coated chainlink and 263 LF of industrial-grade black powder coated aluminum fencing) with three (3) pedestrian gates and one (1) split gate for vehicle access. All pedestrian access points will need keypad or card reader entry/exit for security purposes. The proposed security fence shall be eight (8) feet in height and in an effort to keep costs within budget constraints shall be a combination of rod fencing and black coated chain-link with barbwire top. The proposed security fence shall abut East Ann Street, railroad property, and the neighboring parcel to the south. Additionally, the project will need to incorporate a new landscape island at the entrance of the security fencing in order to accommodate a vehicle access terminal. The landscape island shall be 50.5 linear feet, 6 inches high. The vehicle access terminal should be roughly 3.5-4 feet in height.FENCING: Black Coated Chain-Link: 1. 8-foot height, 2-inch diamond mesh, 9-gauge coated galvanized steel. 2. Barbed Wire: Three (3) strands of 12 1/2 -gauge galvanized 4-point barbed wire installed on outward-angled arms. 8. All materials except barbed wire shall be black in color.
