Site work and paving for a road / highway in Wood Ridge, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The scope of work under Base Bid will consist of full-depth pavement reconstruction, curb construction, ADA ramp construction, and sidewalk construction of Highland Avenue (from Johnson Drive to 10th Street), Jocelyn Avenue (full length), Helm Avenue (from 14th Street to dead end), Wood-Ridge Avenue (from 12th Street to dead end), Burnet Place (from Arnot Place to Main Avenue), Main Avenue (from Arnot Place to 14th Street), Palmer Terrace (from Arnot Place to 14th Street), Union Avenue (from Arnot Place to 11th Street), Arnot Place (from Jocelyn Avenue to Union Avenue), Laurel Drive (from Wood-Ridge Avenue to Main Avenue), 14th Street (from Highland Avenue to Union Avenue), Jay Street (from Highland Avenue to dead end), 12th Street (from Highland Avenue to North Avenue), and 10th Street (from Highland Avenue to Union Avenue). Sealed bids are invited for the Westside Road Improvements Program (NJDOT Funded). Drawings, specifications, and forms of bids, contract, and bond for the proposed work will be on file and available for examination at the Engineer's office. Bidders may request copies of the specifications and blueprints for a non-refundable fee. Bids must be submitted on Standard Proposal Forms as required by the Specifications, enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project, and accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit, a certified check or bid bond for not less than ten percent of the amount bid (but not exceeding $20,000 nor less than $500), and a consent of surety for one hundred percent of the amount bid. Signatures must be in ink and in longhand. Bidders must comply with requirements regarding Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, disclosure of Partners & Stockholders, New Jersey Business Registration, and all applicable public contracts laws and regulations. Proof of business registration must be provided for all contractors and subcontractors. The contractor must notify subcontractors of this responsibility and supply proof with all levels (tiers) of the project. Before final payment, an accurate list and proof of business registration for each subcontractor or supplier used must be submitted, or attestation that no subcontractors were used. Contractors and affiliates must comply with tax collection and remittance obligations under the Sales and Use Tax Act. All contracts and subcontracts for construction or purchase of materials are subject to Section 3 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1968 to provide opportunities for training and employment to lower income residents of the project area, and when possible, award contracts to local business concerns. Bids are irrevocable for sixty days. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities. The project is funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and all NJDOT requirements must be followed. New Jersey Prevailing Wage Rates apply. Small, Minority, and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to obtain specifications and submit bids. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
