Effective immediately, if the bid submission exceeds $500,000, all awarded contractors or vendors are required to submit digital Labour and Material Bonds and Performance Bonds using Form 31 (Labour and Material Bond) and Form 32 (Performance Bond), including HST. Only digital bonds are accepted, and these must be sent to the attention of the Contract Specialist. The contractor shall commence the project as soon as possible once the contract is awarded. The successful contractor must submit a project schedule to the Board immediately upon contract award. The project must be substantially completed by July 10, 2026. Non-destructive work may be performed during regular hours. Work that affects school operations must be conducted after hours or on weekends in accordance with city by-laws. At the sole discretion of the Purchasing Department, after closing, the Contract Specialist may email the unofficial low bidder(s) requesting a complete price breakdown of the Base Bid Price, which must be provided within five business days. Failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-compliant. If applicable, the contractor is responsible for providing sufficient insurance coverage to include supplies, equipment, etc., for the project, with the bid amount being at the sole discretion of the awarded contractor.
