Mechanical and controls improvements at South Haven High School and associated electrical work. All work to be performed in the fall/winter of 2026. It is assumed that controls/HVAC work can take place during school days when the Fine Arts facility is unoccupied; this will be coordinated with the owner. Rooftop replacement is to most likely be scheduled for a time period in December when there will not be use of the facility for an extended period of time. Sealed bids, in triplicate, will be received at South Haven Public Schools Administration Building until the designated deadline or delivered to GDK Construction until the specified time. Late bids will not be considered or accepted. The bid opening will be public and occur at the specified location and time, with a remote viewing option. All proposals received by the deadline will be read publicly. Each bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familiar Disclosure Statement completed by the bidder, disclosing any familiar relationships between the Owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the District’s Board of Education or the Superintendent of the District. A construction pre-bid bidder investigation walk through will be held at the High School. All bidders are encouraged to attend. The Bidding Documents may be viewed online or at the Grand Rapids Builders Exchange, and will be available after the specified date. Contractors are responsible for reviewing all drawings and specifications. Bidders are requested to notify the construction company of their intent to bid or not bid. Bidders must be reputable, recognized organizations with at least five years of successful experience on work of this type and scope, have a license as required by public authorities, and have ample financial resources for work of this magnitude. Each bid shall be accompanied by good and sufficient bid security or bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the bid amount. Successful bidders will be required to secure performance, labor, and material bonds for all contracts exceeding $50,000 from a surety company with a rating of A- or better, for the full contract amount.
