Renovation of a mixed-use development in Cape Coral, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Provide all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, materials, tools, transportation, insurance, and incidentals necessary to remove existing broken and damaged impact glass panels and furnish and install forty new hurricane-rated impact glass panels within the building curtain wall system. The contractor shall verify all window measurements, procure glass panels that meet national and state hurricane impact and projectile-resistance requirements, and ensure compatibility with the existing curtain wall system. Work includes removal of existing glass panels, gaskets, and associated materials; lawful disposal of all removed materials; preparation of surfaces; installation of new glass panels and gaskets; sealing and securing panels; and restoring the building to its constructed condition. Glass units shall meet specified characteristics, including fully tempered blue-green glass (or closest match), insulated construction, argon fill, specified interlayers, coatings, and silicone sightlines. The contractor shall provide a 12 x 12 glass panel sample for color and construction acceptance, supply any required lifts or access equipment, and perform all work with limited interruption to facility operations. Weekly written progress reports are required during manufacturing and ordering, and daily written progress reports are required during installation. All work shall comply with OSHA requirements, VA safety and access procedures, and escort requirements. The contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to Government property at no cost and for providing proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance. The contractor's owner or company principal shall attend the onsite glass panel walkthrough, and any subcontractors utilized must also be present.
