Sealed proposals will be received for Downtown PCE Remediation - Test Hole in Downtown Area. The work consists in general of test hole drilling services in a location yet to be determined, but located near the downtown area of the City of Turlock, and includes obtaining necessary permits, drilling one test hole, geophysical logging, zone testing, and abandonment of test hole. EKI's scope of work includes: o Provide technical design specifications for the drilling, testing, and destruction of one 480-feet deep zone-testing borehole at a location to be determined in consultation with the City. o Perform background research and data review and assess potential drilling, groundwater quality, and well operational issues associated with the proposed location. o Prepare for and participate in the kick-off meeting with the City and Contractor to review roles and responsibilities. o Provide construction observation services during drilling. o Prepare geologic classification log and rock-chip tray record based on direct observation of cutting materials and submit samples for mechanical grading sieve analysis. o Review geophysical logging and analyze resulting data. Select up to five (5) depth intervals for zone testing based on the results of geophysical and geologic logs, plus grain-size distribution data from sampling, as available. o Monitor groundwater production, temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, sand production, and turbidity during well development and zone testing. o Collect groundwater samples from up to five (5) zones and submit samples to a California-certified analytical laboratory to be analyzed for various water quality criteria. o Attend progress meetings as needed. o Review and analyze drilling, geophysical, testing, and water quality results. o Prepare test borehole hydrogeologic evaluation report.
