Site work for a water / sewer project in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work involves furnishing all labor and materials and performing all activities specified for the construction of the 2025 CDBG Wastewater System Improvements. The project includes the installation of a mechanical fine screen, generator, and automatic transfer switch. The contract period is one hundred fifty consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages of $540 per day for each calendar day beyond the contract period. Bids will be accepted only from bidders to whom the Contract Documents and any Addenda have been issued by the Engineer. Bids must be submitted in the name of the recipient of these documents. Non-resident bidders are required to include with their bid a copy of their resident state's current law regarding the treatment of non-resident contractors. Failure to include this information will result in rejection of the bid. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the specified time and place. Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 requires that opportunities for job training and employment be given to lower income residents of the Section 3 area, defined as the City of Hazlehurst. Contracts should, to the maximum extent feasible, be awarded to business concerns located in or substantially owned by residents of this area. The City of Hazlehurst reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding and to reject any and all bids.
