Bids are invited for the Downtown Green Avenue Revitalization Project, which includes the following work: installation of 50 street light poles, electrical upgrades (including conduit and wiring), and pavement repair from trenching of conduit. Bidders must submit a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid (for contracts exceeding $100,000) or a certified check, bank draft, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) in lieu of the bid bond. The federally determined prevailing wage rate must be paid on the project. Bidders must also ensure non-discrimination in employment practices. All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) before contract award. Minority, small, women, veteran-owned, and Section 3 businesses are encouraged to bid. All iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used must be produced in the United States, subject to the Build America, Buy America Act. The City of Taft reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities, and may hold bids for up to 90 days to review qualifications before awarding the contract. Question Deadline 06/04/2026 No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder. Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to the Grant Recipient or engineer no less than seven (7) days prior to the bid opening.
