Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Bettendorf, Iowa. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and educational facility.
Work includes: Base Bid demolition scope includes capping and abandoning in place the existing 3-inch domestic water service from the main tap location at Greenbrier Drive to the proposed cap location near the building connection location. The Base Bid also includes capping and abandoning in place the existing 8-inch fire service line, beginning at the existing hydrant tee connection (east side of the tee) and extending to the proposed cap location west near the building connection location. Two existing hydrants are to be removed and replaced with one centrally located hydrant east of the building. Along with base bid demolition includes removing the existing valve and meter pit located near Greenbrier Drive. Additionally, the Base Bid includes installation of two new service lines—a 4-inch domestic water service and an 8-inch fire service. The proposed service feeds will be routed from under Crow Creek Drive and connecting to the building at the same general location as the existing services. The Alternate Bid includes capping and abandoning in place the entire existing 8-inch fire service line, extending from the main tap at Greenbrier Drive to up near the building connection location. This includes the existing hydrant branch connection and associated piping. All bids received after the stipulated closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened. All sealed bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud at the specified time and submitted to the Board for consideration at its next regularly scheduled meeting. Plans and specifications will be available for viewing and download from the designated website. There will be a $50 refundable plan deposit required for each set of printed documents. Bids shall be made on unaltered Bid Forms copied from the form bound into the Project Manual and submitted in duplicate. Each bid shall be enclosed and sealed in an envelope with the name and address of the bidder, the name of the project, and the date and time of the deadline for receipt of bids. No oral, facsimile, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bidders will be required to provide a security deposit, in the form of either an approved Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa, cashier's or certified check, or certified share draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, in a separate attached envelope. Bid security shall be made payable to the Bettendorf Community School District. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. Should the successful bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory performance/payment bonds, refuse to enter into a Contract on the basis of the bid, or fail to meet the requirements of this Notice and the specifications regulating the award, the bidder’s security may be retained as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date and hour set for opening of bids.
