Sealed proposals from single prime contractors will be received for the construction of East Wake High School partial roof replacement and exterior repairs. All contractors submitting bids must provide either: (1) an affidavit that includes a description of the portion of work to be executed by minority businesses, expressed as a percentage of the total contract price, which is equal to or more than the applicable total; (2) documentation of good faith effort to meet this goal, including any advertisements, solicitations, and evidence of actions demonstrating recruitment and selection of minority business for participation in the contract as required by the contract documents; or (3) an affidavit verifying that the bidder will be self-performing all of the work as defined in N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-128.2. Failure to file the required affidavit or documentation demonstrating good faith effort is grounds for rejection of the bid. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids considered to be in the best interest of the school system. The school system also reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129. Work under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the quality roof recovers, roof replacements, painting, sealant replacement, and exterior repairs at East Wake High School, 5101 Rolesville Rd, Wendell, NC 27591, as shown on the Drawings.
