The Town of Wendell is requesting statements of qualification from professional design consulting firms to provide architectural and engineering services for the build-out of the shell space on the second floor of Town Hall. The selected firm will be responsible for designing construction drawings, preparing bid documents, and providing construction administration services. The project involves creating office space, meeting space, and storage space within the unfinished shell space while maintaining access to the electrical room and mechanical chase. The firm will meet with Town staff to understand space needs and provide options for maximizing the shell space, take the approved conceptual design to complete bid-ready construction drawings for permitting and construction, and perform related tasks including producing conceptual layouts, construction drawings and specifications, preliminary construction cost estimates, and construction administration. All technical memoranda, reports, and certifications must be submitted electronically in both .pdf and Microsoft Office Word formats, and all plans must be delivered as CAD-generated drawings compatible with the Town’s AutoCAD version. The design should focus on cost-effectiveness, functionality, durability, and sustainable energy and water use. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
