The project consists of building a state-of-the-art facility that will address the growing shortage of veterinarians needed to serve the state's underserved rural communities. This project will expand WSVM's facilities and infrastructure to support the education and training of future veterinary professionals and specialists in emergency & critical care, primary care, surgery, and dentistry. The Veterinary Education Pavilion & Primary Care Hospital (VEP-PCH) will serve critical academic and clinical needs by providing spaces that promote clinical innovation and personalized animal care. The project will consist of two distinct but complementary facilities that together will provide approximately 35,000 gross square feet (GSF), with an emphasis on flexibility, durability, and efficient operational flow. The Veterinary Education Pavilion (VEP) will be a highly flexible, multi-purpose facility designed to support a wide range of academic and community functions. The primary program consists of two 200- studentlecture-style/ 100-student team-based learning (TBL) flexible classrooms for daytime academic instruction. The two classrooms must easily convert into one large open venue suitable for banquets, performances, conferences, and community outreach programs. To meet the demands of various functions, the facility must be flexible and easily reconfigured. This level of flexibility will require movable furniture, storage, state-of-the-art audio/visual and recording systems, advanced lighting controls, sophisticated climate control, and acoustical treatments to support the various functional requirements of the VEP. The Primary Care Hospital (PCH) will be a comprehensive veterinary care facility that will support. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to construct a 35,000 gross square foot, Primary Care Hospital and Educational Pavilion at UC Davis Campus.
