Resurfacing of Shoreview Drive in the Town of Newbold. Proposedwork : 1) Remove topsoil along edge of road to accommodate increased width of base material . 2) Add 4" gravel lift to 24' width and then pulverize gravel together with old pavement . The contractor is to furnish load , haul , grade, water , and compact the gravel . The gravel used shall meet Wisconsin DOT specifications for 1 1/4" Dense Graded CABC . 3) The base course shall be shaped to accept a 20' asphalt surface having a 3% crown with 2' shoulders . Any washboard or potholes present in the base course shall be thoroughly cut out and re-graded . A vibratory roller shall be used with water to compact the base course. Any time a grader is working on the base course a water truck shall be in operation keeping the gravel moist . 4) All asphalt paving work done for the Town shall be in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction , 2014 Edition . The mix produced shall be an E-0.3. A mix design shall be furnished to the Town upon request prior to beginning paving operations . 5) A hot mix asphalt surface shall be placed to a2" depth 20' wide . 6) Any paved driveways along the project shall be reconnected to the new surface . The pavement shall extend l ' into each gravel driveway . 7) The Town must approve the final grade of the roadway prior to the paving operation for conformance to proper compaction , slope , and grade requirements . 8) The centerline joint of asphalt shall be atapered "Michigan " style joint . 9) Payment for the hot mix asphalt shall be by the ton, for all material delivered and placed . All material shall be weighed and a weight ticket shall accompany each load . 10) The town will take care of the final shoulder gravel placement. 11) The road must remain open for local traffic during construction . Adequate traffic control signs and flagmen shall be used as needed.
