Site work for a power facility in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a power facility.
BC Hydro plans to proceed with the addition of a sixth turbine and generator unit for the Revelstoke Generating Station to further increase plant generating capacity (the "Revelstoke Unit 6 Project"). A penstock is required to connect the existing intake structure to the existing embedded lower penstock to provide water to the new turbine. The penstock scope includes: removal of existing upper and lower penstock caps; supply and installation of new Unit 6 penstock; supply and installation of flexible coupling and associated access stairs and platform; coating, internal and external, of the completed penstock; Hydrostatic testing of the completed penstock; All supporting services required to complete the work; TIMELINE: Request for Information is underway for the project. The owner plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for this work in summer 2026. Construction on site is expected to commence in April 2027 with a target completion of November 2028. Further update once the project is tendered for construction.
