The overall Project objective is to construct the identified solids treatment improvements at the McAlpine Creek Wastewater Management Facility (WWMF) to generate a Class A biosolids product including planned regionalization of solids treatment from the Irwin Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and future Stowe Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility in addition to existing regionalization with the Sugar Creek WWTP. The McAlpine Creek Wastewater Management Facility Thermal Hydrolysis Process and Biosolids Improvements - Phase 1 Project includes implementation of new solids treatment unit processes as well as upgrades to existing unit processes including but not limited to the following key components: -Pre-Dewatering Building housing sludge screens (to be pre-selected by the Owner), pre-dewatering centrifuges (to be pre-selected by the Owner), polymer systems, dewatered sludge cake bins and sludge pumping equipment along with electrical and control rooms. - Screened sludge storage tanks. -THP Process Equipment as furnished by CAMBI who was selected via a competitive procurement process in 2021 for a defined scope of supply. -Improvements to the existing Anaerobic Digester complex including new steam boilers. -Cooling system for thermally hydrolyzed sludge, including new sludge recirculation system for the anaerobic digesters. -Replacement of the odor control facility for the North Plant, including new infrastructure that will service the new Pre-Dewatering Building. -Electrical distribution system and standby power generation improvements.
